Diamond Lights

We were tasked with building a drone package capable of delivering safe and reliable pre-game stadium light shows. The drone had to be specially designed and capable of lifting heavy lighting equipment in the tight, confined space above the outfield of a baseball field.

THE CHALLENGE

Our client needed a drone capable of lifting a heavy lighting rig for a pre-game stadium light show. The equipment that needed to be mounted was large and heavy. Due to the event schedule, it had to be very reliable and have as long an endurance as possible. The safety of fans and pitchside officials was also a major concern.

THE SOLUTION

We collaborated with our client to provide one of our Ultra airframe systems designed for payloads up to 70 Kg MTOM. Together, we determined the payload weight and required endurance for the light shows, allowing us to define and supply the best propulsion package. Our client's assembly of the system in Yokohama, Japan, where the light shows took place, further demonstrates our partnership.

THE OUTCOME

Our client expressed their satisfaction with the drone, describing it as an ideal solution. They particularly appreciated its ease of assembly and its flexibility in mounting the lighting rig, which made their job much more manageable. The proposed propulsion also worked well even in strong wind and inclement weather, giving the pilot confidence in the drone no matter the conditions. This reliability in a higher-risk environment is a testament to the safety features of our drone.
